We are focusing on organization this week and our feature book is Click, Clack, Moo Cows That Type by Doreen Cronin. We watched a video of the author reading her book and looked at how the book was organized by request, response, and so on. Now my students are brainstorming topics to write about and will be writing back and forth as the cows do in the book. Here's the video too! Enjoy!

I'm so glad that I explored your blog! I'm a huge fan of picture books. Our writing units use a lot of text, too, as models for writing. Have the students completed their writing yet?
ReplyDeleteNot yet. It's a slow process for us. They've explored "hooks" and have written their introductions. Pretty good so far I'd say!
